Articles, Exhibitions

iTOO Artinsure is excited to announce that it has renewed its partnership with the Turbine Art Fair 2021. It will be the first hybrid art fair since the country went into lockdown in March 2020 and although strict measures will be implemented to adhere to Covid19 regulations, art lovers will at last have the opportunity to experience the enjoyment of a large live art event.

iTOO Artinsure will again support the Talks programme which offers a diverse range of current topics and speakers.

“The TAF Talks will offer visitors an opportunity to learn and engage across a wide variety of issues pertaining to the art ecosystem in South Africa and globally” says Gail Bosch, ITOO Artinsure Product Head.

All talks except one, ‘Finance for Hippies’, will be broadcast online.

The showcase exhibition within the Fair, ‘Off the Grid’, curated by Karel Nel will also be presented under the banner of ITOO Artinsure and the Forum Company. It aims to highlight the work of four mid-career artists, Joni Brenner, Collen Maswanganyi, Derrick Nxumalo and Christelle Viviers.

There are no less than 29 Exhibitors from Southern Africa – 17 Galleries plus Editions, Collectives and Project Spaces and a host of inspiring special projects such as TAF Unearthed, a creative mentorship programme and exhibition; Sculpt, showcasing a selection of contemporary site-specific sculptural works; Sublime, an immersive experiential multimedia art installation; and the Graduate Show, a curated exhibition of work by exceptional art students currently in their final or master’s year.

Turbine Art Fair, South Africa’s first Hybrid Art Fair opens on 1– 3 October 2021 at 10 Fricker Road, Illovo, on Artsy & Online at www.turbineartfair.co.za.
