The Delta variant may be surging in some countries, but art fairs are still moving ahead with their 2021 editions, with both Switzerland’s Art Basel (21-26 September) and Frieze London (13-17 October) releasing new details about their imminent happenings.

Neither fair will require vaccination for entry, although guests will be required to provide either a negative test or their vaccination record, and wear face masks. Frieze will be doing timed entry to allow for better social distancing, and Art Basel will cap capacity at 20 percent less than in the past.

In the USA live art fairs are finally back in New York City too with the Armory Show having just completed its 2021 season (9-12 September) albeit on a slightly  different scale due to a slimmer line-up. In 2020 the Armory Show proved to be the last major art event before the USA and Europe went into lockdown.
