The three-day event which runs from 26-28 May 2023 will feature traditional art fair booths from Africa’s leading galleries but will also include unique exhibition spaces designed by curators and artists, making it an event aimed at generating experiences. The focus of the fair is on discovering and developing new artistic talent as well as highlighting artists who are representatives of our contemporary era. This approach has seen RMB Latitudes invite galleries from South Africa, the continent, and the globe to reflect the African diaspora.

The artist-centered event will include an array of special projects enhanced by talks and walkabouts presented by Strauss Education. Several indoor and outdoor experiences curated by Nkhensani Mkhari will complement the fair booths. This includes the exhibition Essay featuring artists Sam Nhlengethwa, Katlego Tlabela, and Cinthia Sifa Mulanga as well as INDEX, an exhibition focusing on independent artists.

A collaboration with Open Studios  will enable visitors to explore 10 studios in the inner city where they will be able to meet and interact with artists. It provides open access to art buildings, spaces and projects across the historical CBD. On 27 and 28 May a shuttle service between the two venues will allow visitors to safely explore the city’s studios.

RMB Latitudes promises to be an art experience not to be missed!

Please note that it is advisable to Uber to the venue.
